So you’ve found yourself in Chicago for New Years Eve. You’re in luck, as the Windy City is one of the most exciting cities to ring in the new year. With countless spots all over the city celebrating the entrance into a new decade the real question becomes, “Where to begin?”

Good question, the answer depends mostly on exactly what you look for in an amazing New Years Eve. Whether it be amazing flavors, a chance to show off your dance moves, or something that would be fun for the whole family, Chicago is going to have what you’re looking for. We’ve made it simple for you because there is something in Chicago for everyone to enjoy, regardless of what year it may be.

Family Friendly but Still Fun

“Lincoln Park’s Zoo Years Eve”

Lincoln Park Zoo

Thousands of dazzling luminous displays sweep the entirety of the Lincoln Park Zoo with the month-long Zoolights event. The truly unique event is made possible with over 2.5 million different gorgeous lights which may be why the tradition dates all the way back to 1994. Zoo Years Eve is the Zoo’s special extended hours event for those who want to ring in the new year with some fuzzy friends. With musical light shows, live ice sculpting, and all the winter brews you can imagine, Zoo Years Eve will give everyone a special holiday experience that they will cherish for many years to come.

“Blue Man Group NYE Party”

Briar Street Theatre

What better way to ring in the new year than with the Blue Man Group? This one-of-a-kind experience will be celebrating the new year with a special performance and interactive opportunities on December 31st. Earlier in the day the young ones can enjoy a 1 pm and 4 pm early midnight countdown with party hats and exclusive performances by the Blue Man Group. Later that night the group will be doing a special NYE performance before the ball drops!
